About Me

Hi! My name is Aidan Zschiedrich. That’s me in my red and black #38 bandolero (“bando”). I’m a 17-year-old Raleigh, NC native and I just got one step closer to achieving my childhood dream.

I race in the U.S. Legend Cars International / INEX league. My home track is the Wake County Speedway in South Raleigh. Bandos are the testing grounds for youth like me; pushing our cars over 70mph around asphalt oval tracks and road courses. INEX is the third-largest sanctioning body behind NASCAR and the International Motor Contest Associations, with more than 3,500 members and 2,500 races annually at more than 300 tracks worldwide.

I am thrilled to have discovered the sport of racing. While I’ve always enjoyed many types of sports, due to musculoskeletal issues, it is difficult for me to participate in those that require running or jumping. As well, I was diagnosed with an advanced form of scoliosis in May 2020 and under went reconstructive spine surgery in November 2021. Nevertheless, I don’t let these things hold me back from racing. In my bando, I can give it my all; and love every minute. Racing gives me an opportunity to build friendships, have more family time and do something I love in a fun, competitive environment.

The official racing season goes from March to October. In 2023, I had 2 feature wins, 6 Top 2 finishes, 13 Top 5s, and 18 top 10s. I finished 2nd at the Wake County Speedway in overall points for the season and set the track record two separate times. I’ve been featured numerous times across media outlets; including the Charlotte Motor Speedway, Jack Dodson’s Racing Insider News, Legends Nation, and Short Track Report.

In 2024, I’m scheduled to race in more than 350 events across several tracks in North Carolina and Virginia. The Wake County Speedway races are typically on Friday nights, while other tracks race on Saturdays and Sundays.
